The TV-show followed the legendary character Robin Hood and his band of merry men in Sherwood Forest and the surrounding vicinity. In the 12th Century Robin Hood (Richard Greene) steales from the rich to help the poor. Little John (Archie Duncan) and Friar Tuck (Alexander Gauge) are his loyal men, standing by his side. The Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Wheatley) and Prince John (Donald Pleasence) want to stop the activity and are constantly chasing after the gang. Robin's true love is Maid Marian (Bernadette O'Farrell), which belongs to the court of Prince John. But always, she supplied Robin Hood useful tips. Sir Richard (Ian Hunter) is the king.
„The Adventure of Robin Hood - Blackmail“ is an episode of an action and adventure serie with an eventful plot and the struggle of the Outlaw against the bad or for the love of a wife. Thus, Robin Hood influenced the type of adventure movie hero as positive connotation, energetic swashbuckler that can defy social conventions, but ultimately subject to noble code of honor.
